if you are african american, and are experiencing or someone you know is experiencing extreme suicidal urges you can contact BEAM. they are a mental health service which supports the community by providing immediate response emergency mental health evaluations and crises services. in many areas, you can call BEAM instead of 911, as the responders are trained in managing mental health crises and distress. however, please be aware that some mobile crisis units will inform the police.

SAMHSA is a 24/7 free referral and information service that can connect you to state services if you live in the U.S. they do not offer counselling, but can offer information and connect you to mental health resources and local assistance. you can contact them through 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or TTY- 1-800-487-4889

English and Spanish are available.

Befrienders also offers a list of organizations that are not members of Befrienders Worldwide that offer telephone, email and face to face services

imAlive.org is an online crisis network that can connect you to a trained volunteer if ever you need to reach out.

their chat queues are sometimes full but they will connect with you once available. you may need to use a laptop as their chat service may lag on phone, but using a phone is okay, too.

7cups connects you to trained listeners for free emotional support. they also have a number of forums and chat rooms where you can chat with people who understand how you feel. they also have section on their website that can offer advice for a number of topics.

this carrd offers a list of mental health resources for black african americans struggling with mental health, including hotlines, therapists and psychologists.

Betterhelp's mission is to offer affordable online counselling for those in need. you will need to sign up with an email, after which you can get connected with an available counselor who fits your objectives, preferences and the hardships you are facing.

Open Path is a nation-wide network of mental health professionals who are dedicated to providing mental health care to individuals, children, couples and families. Open Path is intended for people who are underinsured or don't have health insurance, or have Medicaid and have no Medicaid providers in your area. Their rates are $30-$60.

Low-fee or free mental health clinics can offer you care. these mental health clinics offer a variety of mental health services, like individual or family counseling, medication management and are trained to help with mental illnesses. to find these mental health clinics, you can call NAMI at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264). they are available Monday through Friday, 10AM-6PM. you can also contact them through email at [email protected]

you can also visit mentalhealth.gov to find out more about how to get help. they talk about a number of things, including health insurance concerns.

SAMHSA Behavioural Health Treatment Services is an anonymous source of information that can offer treatment centers for substance use/addiction and/or mental health illnesses.

this website allows you to locate health centers (including COVID-19 Testing Centers) according to your location. it offers you information like address, distance from your location and numbers of the health centers you can call.

BlahTherapy can match you with one of their 2,000 therapists after filling out a questionnaire. for a low fee, you can message therapists through phone, video or messaging whenever you may need to.

Talkspace's mission is to provide more people with convenient access to licensed therapists. Their services are not trying to replace in-person therapy. With talkspace, you can send therapists text messages, audio messages, picture and video messages in a private, text-based chatroom. They do not offer a free trial, however they do offer a free intial consultation, wherein a matching agent can chat with you to understand the kinds of things you may need assistance with and how Talkspace can help you with it.

Online therapy is an online-based team of consultants whose operation is based on cognitive behavioural therapy, which is one of the most commonly used therapy approach for treating mental health illnesses. their free plan includes free online therapy, 8-easy to follow sections, 25 worksheets, yoga and meditation videos, journal, activity plan, and tests. they have other subscriptions available that include feedback from therapists, express replies and others.

PrestoExperts offers online counselling. live counselors are available 24/7. you are charged after the first 3 minutes after being connected. clicking 'Get Help Now' on their website will immediately connect you to a counselor. i don't know the rates/prices for this one as it doesn't say on their website, however they are available 24/7.
